Do you have racing thoughts at night? Have you noticed past experiences impacting your current relationships? Are you struggling to manage difficult emotions?
Simply Begin Again Therapy can help by providing emotional support, coping strategies and a safe space to explore and address your concerns. LGBTQIA+ allied.
Individual Therapy: For individual adults seeking personal growth and healing, I provide a safe and compassionate space for self-exploration and self-discovery. Addressing a wide range of emotional and psychological concerns, including anxiety, grief, stress, trauma, perinatal mental health, and life transitions. Collaborating with clients to develop coping skills, enhancing self-awareness, and cultivating resilience.
Mind-Body Connection: I recognize the intricate relationship between mental and physical health. I help clients understand how emotions, thoughts, and past experiences can manifest in the body as physical sensations, tension, or discomfort. By exploring the mind-body connection, I help clients gain insight into the underlying causes of their emotional distress or physical symptoms.
Trauma-Informed Approach: Traumatic experiences can be stored in the body and impact emotional well-being. I work gently with clients to help them process and release unresolved trauma, often using somatic techniques to facilitate healing.
I collaborate with clients to co-create a treatment plan that may include a combination of traditional talk therapy, mind-body techniques, and mindfulness practices to support my client's growth and healing journey. I hope to foster a sense of empowerment in my clients by encouraging them to trust their own innate capacity for healing and growth.
I am trained in multiple therapeutic methods to address various client needs effectively. Here's a description of each area I am trained in:
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): EMDR is a psychotherapy approach primarily used to treat trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I use EMDR to help clients process distressing memories and experiences by using bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, to facilitate healing and emotional resolution.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): DBT is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy designed to help individuals manage emotions and improve interpersonal relationships. DBT teaches clients skills in mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Solution-Focused Therapy: This approach focuses on finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems. I use Solution Focused Therapy to help clients identify their strengths and resources, set achievable goals, and develop practical strategies to overcome challenges.
Motivational Interviewing: This counseling technique aims to enhance an individual's motivation to bring about positive behavioral changes. I use motivational interviewing to collaborate with clients to explore their ambivalence about change and help them find internal motivation to achieve their goals, whether related to addiction, relationships, or other life changes.
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT is an evidence-based therapy that focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I use CBT work with clients to identify and modify negative thought patterns and beliefs that contribute to emotional distress or dysfunctional behaviors. It helps clients develop healthier coping skills and promotes lasting changes.
By incorporating these various therapeutic modalities into my practice, I can offer a comprehensive and tailored approach to meet the diverse needs of my clients, promoting personal growth, resilience, and emotional well-being.
